Pablo

Pablo (Poppy) is an energetic little 2-3 year old Basenji mix who has been waiting and waiting for someone to give him a real home. He's been at the shelter for an extended period of time and needs an enriched, loving environment to flourish.

Though small, he's very active and would be best suited in a home that has a fenced in yard or an owner who will walk him regularly. He walks great on a leash but gets so eager when going to the dogpark he hops around like a kangaroo! Compared to a purebred Basenji, he has a little thicker, longer coat that keeps him warm in the winter time so he can enjoy outdoor activity all year! Pablo has now completed the shelter obedience training class, mastering basic commands such as "stay" and "sit".

He gets along with most dogs, but can nip when a dog becomes too socially intrusive (who can blame him?). He appears to do well living with other dogs, having two cage-mates since he's been at our shelter and loving the company.
