Happy is a medium-sized male Basenji (possibly Cattle Dog) mix who was
pulled from a kill shelter by the Danbury Animal Welfare Society. Since then
this 4 year old has become quite the social butterfly!
Happy enjoys play dates in their yards with several of his canine
companions. He is particularly fond of his four-legged lady friends!! He
loves if someone throws the tennis ball for him and he's great about
bringing it back. He is very welcoming to people. He looks at you with those
brown eyes that just say, "Take me Home."
He has been enrolled in their on-site training program and is doing
great. He is able to do all of these on command; sit, stay, wait, down. He
is a favorite of volunteers who frequently take him on hikes, and to their
homes for 2-3 days. He has also been taken to off-site training seminars for
the weekend where he has been great in the car and in the hotel room.

Happy is seeking a home where he can continue to practice his skills, be
given lots of love and attention, and have space to run. An adult home or
one with older teenagers (15+). is recommended. He is fine with cats. If you
