Rocky was found living in a small cave in the mountains fending for
himself. We aren't sure how long he had been living on his own, but he
definitely has not had a good start in life.
Rocky was absolutely terrified when we pulled him out of that cave but he
is starting to come around slowly, and he seems to prefer men to women. We
do not want him to go to a home with young children. He needs a quiet home
with someone who has patience to work with him and help him overcome his
fears. A friendly canine companion might help him adjust.
Rocky has been going out to potty and has not had any accidents in the
house. He is very calm and will usually just lay in a corner; he will sit
next to you and does seem to like to be petted. He loves playing with other
dogs and that is when his personality really comes out! He is learning to
play with toys as well.

He is very quiet unless someone comes to the house after dark and then he
will bark to alarm us. He is crate trained and will sometimes run to his
crate to hide if he feels threatened.
He is a sad little guy who has not had much of a life thus far and he
doesn't yet know how good life can be. If you can give Rocky the loving,
patient home he needs, you will be repaid with years of love and devotion.
