Cheddar was found on the streets, and life on the streets often leads to
jail, and that's where Cheddar ended up... JAIL. But not doggie jail, people
jail! He was placed in the Canine Correctional Program at the Coldwater
Prison Complex and is being trained by an inmate. He has been in prison for
3 months and will be out June 5 fully trained in basic obedience.

Cheddar is a handsome boy and is 18 pounds of love and attention. When
you sit, he will be next to you wanting to be loved. Many have wanted to
change his name to Cuddles. Cheddar is good with older children, okay with
cats but is an alpha male and does not socializing well with other males.
Cheddar is very loving, intelligent , entertaining and loyal; he has a
strong desire
to please. He does have some resource guarding issues and will
need firm guidance. Cheddar should be adopted by some one who understands
the Basenji breed. They must know when to give a correction and at the same
time be loving. And like a Basenji, Cheddar has a strong prey drive and a
fence is required.
