Buster

Buster is a sweet, young basenji boy that enjoys life. His goal is to spend as much time as possible with his humans and when you sit on the couch, Buster will be right there with you. He also loves cuddling under the covers in bed.

Typical of a young basenji, Buster will counter surf, likes to play with his toys and chews, laying in the sun and following sunbeams throughout the day, and enjoys looking out the window. Buster was trained to use a doggie door and had only one accident during the first week at his foster home. He may exhibit a touch of separation anxiety in the beginning because of his high uncertainty factor being in a new home, but he will settle into a routine quickly.

He enjoys playing with the resident basenjis in his foster home and would enjoy an easy going girl to live with. Buster has demonstrated alpha tendencies, so he would do best with a well socialized, agreeable dog friend. He has lived with a cat, but the cat found Buster to be annoying because he wanted to play and the cat didn’t.

The home Buster is looking for is one that has humans that will give him plenty of attention and walks; an agreeable, playful female; children eight years or older; and if you own a cat, she/he would need to be basenji/dog savvy.

If Buster is a good fit for you and your family and you are interested in adopting him, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete the BRAT adoption form (if you have not previously done so) and contact BRAT coordinator, Barbara McShea. The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will ask you your name, e-mail address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for your family, a typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to transport the dog.
