Lady
Meet
Lady! Oh, yes and a lady she is. This spunky gal is just all personality and
a big diva!
This gal is very active for nine years old and enjoys
playing by herself or her younger foster brother. They run and play
together, and then enjoy a snooze on the sofa or in bed. She is looking for
a home to slow down a bit though as her foster brother is much younger than
she. Lady enjoys sunshine and laying on the deck. She chases rabbits and
squirrels. She enjoys long walks in the park to “smell
the roses.” She is a bit nosey and wants to know
everything that is going on.
Lady is house trained and crate trained. She has good
manners and prefers to sleep in bed with her people. She couldn't possibly
sleep anywhere else. Divas belong in the bed don't you know. She enjoys
snuggling on the sofa and watching TV too. If it s raining, however, she
truly does not like to get wet! In true Basenji fashion she will try
to wait to go out as long as possible as her precious sweet paws may melt in
the water. On rainy days you will need to be patient with her and take her
out to go potty - or provide a covered space for her to remain dry and do
her business.
Lady
enjoys other Basenjis, but not bigger dogs or non-Basenjis. She is very
particular with whom she will befriend. She is hoping for a forever home
where she can be the center of your universe. She is certain that she is
actually the center of the universe so she wants to be treated as such in
her new forever home. She would be happy with another male Basenji companion
that is more her age or non-dominant. She would like a fenced yard to sun
bathe. Respectful dog savvy children are okay too. Although she is likely to
be okay around cats, she may chase them if they run. When on walks she throw
a fit on leash, as she tends to believe that the world is
“hers” and that no
other dog has the right to walk on the sidewalk besides herself and her
Basenji companion.
This pretty princess is your diva. Apply to spoil her
today!
If you think you could provide Lady with love, activity, and evening
cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete
the BRAT
adoption form (if you have not previously done so)
and contact BRAT coordinator,
Suzanne Sarlls-Hartwell.
The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will ask you your name,
email address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for
your family, a typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you
plan to transport Lady. There is an
adoption fee of $225.00 for Lady. This fee is used for all costs
associated with the care and feeding of Lady and future Basenjis in
rescue. BRAT adopters receive a dog that has been spayed or neutered
($150-$400, depending on location), fully vaccinated and tested for
heartworm and strip-tested for Fanconi (negative unless otherwise noted), and temperament
evaluated. In addition, BRAT provides free lifetime post-adoption counseling
to help deal with behavioral issues. Finally, we provide a free lifetime
identification tag connected to our "lost dog" toll free number. |
