 DD
is a very sweet people-oriented girl who can never get enough attention from
her person. She is also a high-energy girl and would be an ideal companion
on walks or even jogging excursions. DD does well when meeting other dogs
but doesn't like to share her food with other dogs so she needs to be fed
separately.
DD's ideal forever home will already have Basenji
experience and because her early life consisted of backyard living, she will
need a home that will be patient enough to teach her the niceties of life
indoors. While she is great with people she needs to be the only dog and
also can not live with a cat. She will do great with older children but
would be much too rough for a small child. And of course her forever home
will also need to be willing to supply her with all of the treats and
chewies her heart desires. DD is very food oriented so training can be
accomplished using positive rewards of food.

plan to transport DD. There is an
adoption fee of $275.00 for DD. This fee is used for all costs
associated with the care and feeding of DD and future basenjis in
rescue. BRAT adopters receive a dog that has been spayed or neutered
($100.00-$250.00, depending on location), fully vaccinated and tested for
heartworm and Fanconi (negative unless otherwise noted), and temperament
evaluated. In addition, BRAT provides free lifetime post-adoption counseling
to help deal with behavioral issues. Finally, we provide a free lifetime
identification tag connected to our "lost dog" toll free number. |
