Buddy
Buddy is a loving cuddly Basenji boy who wants to be
with his humans! He enjoys canine companions but prefers the company of
non-alpha dogs.
Buddy
is an active boy that likes his exercise and he loves being outside. He
loves to go for long walks and, atypical for a Basenji, does not seem to
mind cold or wet weather! He will also let you know when he has to go
outside. He goes to the door and will scratch at it if you do not respond.
Occasionally he may just want to go for a walk, but most of the time he
really has 'to go.'
Buddy will stay in an indoor kennel but he is a howler
when confined. His current foster family has not allowed him to roam free in
the house while alone, though his previous owners indicated he was left home
alone without problems. Buddy's preferred forever home would be one where is
not left alone for long periods of time as he would be much happier if he
was not crated for the day.
Buddy is a good size male with thick, soft, and shiny fur.
He has a scar on his nose, perhaps from a dogfight in his previous life.
Buddy likes to try to be alpha even with humans. He will show it with a
growl so his new parents should be basenji savvy. That said, once he settled
into his foster home, Buddy accepted the humans as alpha, though he does
test the resident dogs at times. Overall Buddy gets along well with the
other dogs and tries to play (he has more energy than the older resident
dogs). His foster family says Buddy has been a pleasure to foster. He is an
incredible loving dog and wants to snuggle with his foster Mom whenever he
can.
If you think you could provide Buddy with love, activity, and evening
cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete
the BRAT
adoption form (if you have not previously done so)
and contact BRAT coordinator,
William Key. The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will
ask you your name, e-mail address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for your family, a
typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to
transport the dog. |
