Cosmo & Delta
Cosmo
(blue collar) and Delta (red collar) are wonderful, sweet basenjis that would
like to be loved family pets.
Delta, who has a beautiful yodel, is an active girl that
is very attentive and aware of the world around her whereas Cosmo (who will
also serenade you) would just as soon find someone to cuddle up to on the
couch. Both Basenjis love people, are housetrained and not house destructive
and sit nicely for treats. These two are very smart and are quick learners
especially if a yummy treat is involved!

These
dogs are considered healthy by their doctor; however, Delta was diagnosed
with dry eye which is treated with Tacrolimus drops, an inexpensive eye drop
that is placed into her eyes once a day. Cosmo was diagnosed with sinus
cardiac arrhythmia. Sinus cardiac arrhythmia means that Cosmo's heartbeat
may be too fast or too slow but his doctor considers what he has as a normal
variant and nothing to be concerned about (no medication is needed or
anticipated).
Cosmo and Delta are good travelers and the home that they
are looking for would be as only dogs, or perhaps with a larger, easy-going
temperament dog (they do not want to live with animals their size or
smaller), older respectful dog-savvy children, and owners that would enjoy
taking them for walks through the neighborhood. A fenced yard and doggie
door would be an added plus, they love the outdoors.

Transport anywhere along the I-77 corridor from SC to Ohio
might be possible (weather permitting), as well as I-95 into the
Mid-Atlantic.
If you think you could provide Cosmo & Delta with love, activity, and evening
cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete
the BRAT
adoption form (if you have not previously done so)
and contact BRAT coordinator,
Patricia Dukes.
The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will ask you your name,
e-mail address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for
your family, a typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you
plan to transport Cosmo & Delta. There is an
adoption fee of $425.00 for Cosmo & Delta. This fee is used for all costs
associated with the care and feeding of Cosmo & Delta and future basenjis in
rescue. BRAT adopters receive a dog that has been spayed or neutered
($100.00-$250.00, depending on location), fully vaccinated, tested for
heartworm, and strip-tested for Fanconi (negative unless otherwise noted), and temperament
evaluated. In addition, BRAT provides free lifetime post-adoption counseling
to help deal with behavioral issues. Finally, we provide a free lifetime
identification tag connected to our "lost dog" toll free number. |
