Larry
My
name is Larry, and I am looking for a home that will take care of me. I am
an 8-9 year old basenji boy with a lot to offer someone willing to love me.
I will yodel for you and I will follow you from room to room in order to be
near you. Of course, since I have to uphold the Basenji Code, I will remain
aloof for a few days while we get to know each other, but after I have you
trained, I will not leave your side for long. My favorite things include
dinnertime, cheese, men, hogging the bed, long naps, stuffed toys, and
walks. If you show me a leash I will become Mr. Cooperative and I will amaze
you with how well I will walk with you. My eyesight and hearing are not as
good as I would like, so I would prefer that you say my name and get my
attention before touching me (you'll get older too, someday). Despite that,
I am capable of devotion and love (those are things that get better with
age).
I am housetrained, non-destructive, and really appreciate
a doggie door. I am not fond of kids, but I really perk up when I hear an
older person's voice. My dream home would be one with adults to cater to my
whims. I like to ride in the car, and I have enjoyed living with other dogs
that understand that I am the alpha dog. I just don't understand why my past
owners left me in the night drop box at the animal shelter. I am as close to
a perfect basenji as possible!
If you think you could provide Larry with love, activity, and evening
cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete
the BRAT
adoption form (if you have not previously done so)
and contact BRAT coordinator,
Lisa Insall. The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will
ask you your name, e-mail address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for your family, a
typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to
transport the dog. |
