Chase is a handsome, Basenji mix who will celebrate his third birthday on February 14. That is a fitting birthday for this boy who is described as a real sweetheart.

Chase is described by his former owner as kind-hearted dog. He loves to play, especially outside, and he's a great cuddle bug. He is great with children of all ages. He's also great with other dogs and animals, but becomes wary around other dogs after being involved in a fight with a snarky dog. He's always glad to keep his person company. He's protective of his home and his family (both human and animal). Chase currently sleeps in the mudroom at the foster's home, but he prefers to sleep on the sofa or in the bed.

Chase can be walked easily on leash. He also likes to go in the backyard, but if he is left for long periods of time, he might decide to entertain himself by finding something to chew. Like all dogs, Chase gets lonely when left unattended. Chase likes to ride in the car and does so without problems.

If you are looking for a sweet Basenji mix that is always ready to spend time with you, and you can provide lots of hugs and cuddle time, Chase just might be the dog you need. Help Chase celebrate his third birthday in a home where he can remain forever.

If you think you could provide Chase with love, activity, and evening cuddle time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete the BRAT adoption form (if you have not previously done so) and contact the BRAT coordinator, Linda Webb-Hilliard.

The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will ask you your name, email address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for your family, a typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to transport Chase.

There is an adoption fee of $175.00 for Chase. This fee is used for the extensive costs associated with vetting and otherwise caring for Chase and future Basenjis in rescue. BRAT adopters receive a dog that has been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas and internal worms if necessary, DNA tested for Fanconi syndrome (dogs under 10), and heartworm tested. Our dogs get recommended dental work. Seniors over 10 get a senior panel. When indicated, we test our dogs for thyroid deficiencies. They are also temperament evaluated. In addition, BRAT provides free lifetime post-adoption counseling to help deal with behavioral or health issues. Finally, we provide a free lifetime identification tag connected to our "lost dog" toll free number.
